Debit Cards Accepted:
To qualify to rent a Dollar vehicle, the renter must present at the time of rental a valid driver’s license and valid major credit card or debit card (see Debit Card Usage below) in the renter's own name with available credit and funds. A physical card must be presented as Digital Wallet cards are not accepted. Non-prepaid Debit cards issued under a VISA, MasterCard or Discover logo which draw funds directly from the cardholder’s account may be used at the outset of a rental when the following requirements are met: Vehicle class reserved is Compact through Full-size ONLY, present two (2) valid forms of identification; and proof of a return travel ticket to coincide with the rental (airline/train/cruise). Debit cards are NOT accepted at the outset of a rental to qualify on Premium vehicles and above, including Convertibles. At the time of rental, an authorized hold will be secured on your credit/debit card provided to cover the estimated rental charges and any additional charges that may be incurred. These funds will not be available for your use for the duration of the rental. We will place an authorization amount of $200 for a Major Credit Card and $500 for a Debit Check Card, plus the cost of the rental. The above incremental hold will not be applied to established Express members with a VISA card in their profile. In most cases, the location will perform a credit check for Debit Card customers to determine credit worthiness at the time of rental. The customer must meet the minimum criteria to rent using a Debit Card. In addition, the acceptance of debit, prepaid or store value cards is contingent upon the card having available funds to cover the estimated charges plus an authorization of up to $200.00 for a Major Credit Card and $500.00 for a Debit Card given conditions depending on location, length and date of rental that will be outlined at time of rental.

25 to 98 years.
Young driver's age: 20 to 24 years. Charge 52 USD per day. (Excludes tax)
Customers who fall outside the age limitations will not be able to hire a car unless there is a young or senior driver fee specified in this section. Please note that if applicable, this fee will be included in the rental price and will be payable on arrival at the rental desk in the local currency.
Travel Restrictions
Please note, for inbound renters renting in the USA or Canada, proof of return flight tickets are required in order to rent all vehicles.
In most cases, vehicles can be driven in any state in the continental United States. The vehicles are not permitted to be taken on ferries or to island locations without prior authorization from Thrifty. Travel is also not permitted via rail.
CANADA:
In most cases, vehicles may be driven across the Canadian border.
It is recommended to have PERS cover when using vehicle in cross border rentals for the US and Canada.

MEXICO:
Vehicles may be driven into Mexico with prior authorization and from any locations in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. An additional Mexican insurance must be purchased locally to do so. The cost of Mexican insurance is between $38.00 - $48.00 USD per calendar day plus taxes and fees, which will assist with breakdown issues. PERS is not available in Mexico.
Due to Mexican Law, Mexican citizens are not permitted to drive U.S. owned vehicles in Mexico. Any attempts to do so will result in fines and penalties.
If travelling to Miami Port a shuttle service to and from the Port is available from 8am to 3pm, 7 days a week and is ONLY available from the Miami Cruise Ship location. When arriving at the port, proceed to the designated pick up area and look for the shuttle which comes approximately every 45 minutes. Shuttle distance to the location is about 8 miles. ***Vehicles may NOT be returned to the Port of Miami ***
